Update for 0.1.1

New Hairstyles!

Additional images are generated when you save

Couldn't find a way to save directly to a .PSD format so just settled with separate images instead.

Unfortunately for the glow part, it pretty much affects the final render based on the objects around it. So if I hide the lineart and capture just the colors, the color will differ compared to the final render. I did save the individual images anyway just incase you have any use for it.

As for the mask, I just combined all of them into a single image, but with randomized solid colors. They may be issues in areas where I use transparency to blend to colors together (e.g. around the eyes and hair)  so if you want them in individual images instead then just leave a comment and let me know.

I tried recreating it in SAI and here's the closest that I could get it to:

Steps:

  • Clip everything under transparency mask
  • Make color_mask your selection source
  • Multiply lineart effects under raw_color
  • Get raw_color with glow enabled and apply a strong Gaussian Blur filter, set to Linear Dodge(Shine in Sai, Add(Glow) in CSP).
  • For the iris, just clipped the iris part in lineart_effects making use of the selection source, then just clipped a solid color to match the final render.

The reason the iris is red in the final render is because I'm faking overlay in my App by stacking together 3 different layers of lineart. So if you don't wan't to deal with that then just turn the 3 Lineart layers to black.

I'm working on a new version that makes use of shaders instead of just stacked images so it should translate more easily to photoshop or other editing programs.

I'd love to help out as much as I can, while you are active and inspired. I have a lot of experience drawing characters. I have my tablet, Photoshop and Clip Studio. If you showed me what brushes and technique you use, then it would only take me about a week to be able to draw things in the same style as you. Also, I would do it all for free. Let me know if you want to get in touch.

Thanks for the kind offer and comments man! I don't think I'm online enough to do any meaningful collab but a helping hand is very much welcome.

I haven't tackled this topic yet since I want to redraw my poses but I'm figuring out how to do armor and outfits. I've been experimenting with layering different parts stacked on top of each other that I can use in a variety of outfits. If you want to take a shot at it then please do!

Here are the files:

Inside should be a .clip file with all the folders I'm currently working on, and also the brush I'm using.

Thanks again!
